NPMC welcomes Nichole Reed as ACNO

National Park Medical Center welcomes Nichole Reed as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. The role of the ACNO works to ensure quality care, staffing and resource management, patient advocacy, quality improvement, education and training of nursing staff, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to lead and inspire our nursing team, advocate for our patients, and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the organization as we strive to provide the highest standard of care possible,” Reed said.
“We are thrilled to have Nichole as a part our team,” said Lisa Wallace, Chief Nursing Officer. “She has demonstrated great leadership in her past roles and will be a great asset in NPMC’s dedication to quality of care.”
Reed holds a Master of Science in Nursing - Health Administration through University of Phoenix and is certified in Professional Patient Safety.
The ACNO assists in various aspects of patient care and nursing operations. Reed is well versed in many roles of nursing leadership. Prior to her position at NPMC, she served as the director for the Emergency Department at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles, Ky. She has held several leadership positions in the Central Kentucky Market, including market director for risk management, house supervisor, Intensive Care Unit director, and CDI specialist. She began her nursing career as an ICU nurse, working nightshift at Georgetown Community Hospital in Central Kentucky.
“Choosing a nursing leadership profession allows me to merge my passion for patient care with my desire to make a broader impact within healthcare systems,” Reed said. “Nursing leadership positions offer a unique opportunity to influence and improve the quality of care provided to patients on a larger scale.”
Throughout her nursing career, Reed said she has witnessed firsthand the profound impact that effective leadership can have on patient outcomes and organizational success.
Leaders who not only excel in clinical practice but also demonstrate exceptional skills in team management, innovation, and strategic decision-making, have been a great inspiration for Reed.
She is the mother of two boys, Justin, 14, and Harlan, 10. The family has two rescue dogs, Luna and Lumi. When not working, she enjoys watching her boys play football and soccer, as well as going to concerts, sporting events, and being on the water. Reed is also passionate about strength training, nutrition, and yoga.
