National Park Medical Center Case Management opens clothing closet
February 25, 2025

(Hot Springs, AR) Feb. 25, 2025—National Park Medical Center’s Case Management Department has opened a clothing closet for patients in need following their stay.
“Our Case Management Department is top notch because they have a genuine desire to care for people,” said Scott Bailey, CEO. “Our nurses and doctors care and treat people for their immediate problems and needs, but it’s Case Management who ensures our patients are taken care of when they leave our facility.”
There is an array of reasons why someone might not have proper essentials at discharge, said Rhonda Lock, Market Director of Case Management at NPMC and Saline Memorial.
“We have a real need to support some of the less fortunate patients that come to National Park. They have very little resources and what they do have is not enough,” Lock said. She added that another example is when a patient comes in through the emergency room and their clothing is soiled or has to be removed. If the patient does not have the resources to replace what they came in with they are left with Hospital scrubs to wear home.
Another example Lock gave was when a patient comes to the hospital from home but is discharged to another medical facility, whether long-term or short-term care, they may need clothing to take with them.
I am so thankful and proud to have the team in our Case Management Department who saw a need and went above and beyond to care for the people of our community,” Bailey said.
Anyone can donate to the closet, Lock said. The items needed include warm clothes, socks, underwear, and shoes. Lock said items need to be washed and in fairly good condition. Socks and underwear of course need to be new. The Hospital can also use blankets, sweatshirts and jackets to give out.
Employees may bring items to Case Management. The public can contact Case Management at 501-249-1895 to arrange a drop-off.
