Christopher Munton named Chief Operating Officer of National Park Medical Center

(HOT SPRINGS, AR – June 1, 2020) – National Park Medical Center (NPMC) announced today that Christopher “Chris” Munton has been named their COO. Chris joined NPMC as Interim COO in April from Rutherford Regional Health System in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, where he served as Assistant Administrator/Ethics and Compliance Officer for the previous two years.“We are excited to have Chris step into this important leadership role,” said Scott Smith, Market CEO of NPMC. “He brings a vast amount of healthcare knowledge and experience in patient safety, quality and ethics and compliance. Most importantly, he is committed to furthering NPMC’s mission of Making Communities Heathier.”
In his administrative experience in the LifePoint Health system, Munton received his certification as a Duke Health Patient Safety Officer and his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He assisted in the stringent endeavor of achieving Duke LifePoint National Quality Affiliation.

Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University of Hawaii, and his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as a Missionary in Fiji for two years. Chris and his wife Marissa have four children with another due to arrive soon. He and his family will reside in Hot Springs.
