NPMC to Hold ARORA Flag Raising Ceremony to Honor Organ Donation
April 7, 2023
National Park Medical Center (NPMC) will hold a special flag raising ceremony in honor of National Donate Life Month and in tribute to the critical role organ donation plays in saving lives.
Within the last year, NPMC experienced two organ donation events impacting families, friends, the community, and hospital staff. These events also provided life-saving and life-affirming help to many others in need of organ, tissue, and bone donations.
According to Little Rock-based ARORA, a non-profit dedicated to restoring lives by connecting donors to those needing donation, approximately 300 Arkansans are on the transplant waiting list with more than 100,000 people on the national waiting list. Yet, 6000 people die each year waiting.
The NPMC flag ceremony will take place Wednesday April 12 at 10:30am by the main entrance. We will hear from Lisa Wallace, NPMC Chief Nursing Officer and representatives from ARORA. There will be a donor registration table available to those who make the choice to become a donor.
