Cardiac Electrophysiology
With National Park Medical Center’s recent addition of cardiac electrophysiology, Hot Springs and the surrounding areas now have access to more heart care services closer to home. Electrophysiology (or EP) provides diagnostic testing and treatment for patients with irregular heartbeats, including insertion of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S. An irregular heartbeat can lead to heart complications, fatigue, congestive heart failure or stroke. If you have experienced palpations, racing heart, fainting spells, dizziness, fatigue or shortness of breath, talk to your primary care physician about whether an EP study might be right for you, or call 877.320.3222 to find a physician.
