Giving the Gift of Life in the New Year

National Park Medical Center (NPMC) is ringing in 2024 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 7 pounds and 10.5 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches, Alaya was born to Kendyia and Rickey, Tuesday, Jan. 2nd, at 1:52am.
“We are so thrilled to welcome our new baby girl!” said Kendyia. “Dr. Varhade and my nurses at NPMC took such great care of us and we are so thankful to them for making this experience so special.”
Dr. Suchita Varhade, an OBGYN at Physicians for Women, is dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region.
“We have an extraordinary team of clinical and support staff who are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for mothers and their babies on New Year’s Day and year-round,” said Dr. Varhade, OBGYN. “One of our greatest privileges is helping our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a healthy, positive and memorable way.”
Alaya was born in National Park Medical Center's Maternity Center, offering patients and families a highly skilled delivery team, anesthesiologists and trained nursery personnel for professional care and advanced treatment.
The Maternity Center is also an Empowered Birthplace dedicated to eliminating post-partum risk factors and partnering with UAMS to achieve this certification. The center provides
